Welcome to the "Underwater" Section!

When I was a child, my family had aquariums setup in the Living Room.  Sure, they were partly "my fish," but my Mom took care of them, of course!  Nothing fancy... just a Goldfish for starters.  Eventually, we had a pair of ten gallon tanks going - one for Goldfish, and the other for freshwater tropical fish.  You know... Angelfish, Gouramis, Mollies and other typical aquarium fish.

One day, we came home to discover that the heater was turned way up (most likely by my baby brother), thus killing all of the tropical fish in the tank.   Eventually, the Goldfish died as well, and that was pretty much it for quite some time.

Then, in May of 1996, my cousin Debbie got married.  Great wedding!  Great food!  Great booze!  And... Great centerpieces!  She had on each table a small fishbowl with... you guessed it - Goldfish!  At the end of a wonderful evening, my cousin said, "Take one home, Brian!  Take it home for your daughter!"  Back came memories of the tanks I had as a kid, and the rest, as they say, is history!

From that one Goldfish in a small bowl, I now have 4 tanks (5 if you include the Hospital tank!), 36 fish and 50 invertebrates!  Thanks, Debbie!  On these pages, I will try to keep as much information about these critters as possible.  Of course, the usual limitation of "I do have a Life" applies here.  Any questions, comments or suggestions about the site, tanks, fish, equipment or methods are always welcome.  Enjoy...

-Brian
