11 Wins, 1 Loss - 1999 American League East Champions! 1999 was a great year for the Cubs. The kids had fun at nearly every game, the parents cheered (and sometimes yelled!), and in the end, we all became good friends, learned a few lessons about being a team player and good sportsmanship... and we even managed to win our division! 1999 also marked the end of Jim Metz's Managerial days as a Cub. With his son Dan moving up to hardball, Jim has a coaching position with Danny's new team. Coaches Augie DiCosimo and Dave Cosentino are also moving up to hardball with their sons Matt DiCosimo and Anthony Cosentino. The Cubs want to thank them for teaching them so much last summer, and we wish them well in hardball in the Year 2000. The 2000 Cubs were led by a new Manager - Brian K. Speck. Brian was a coach in 1999, and was asked to continue the Cubs tradition at the close of the 1999 season. How could he say No? Wendy Hvisdos has accepted the Scorekeeper's position, and Decino McBeath, Steve Parish and Ron Roberts have filled the coaching positions to help the 2000 team be the BEST that they can be!! The Cubs would also like to wish the Best of Luck to Megan Gurcze, who moved up to Softball, and Jim Singer, Michael Patterson and Joe Ecoiano who also moved up to Hardball in 2000. THANKS and GOOD LUCK from THE CUBS!!! Leaving the Cubs after the 2000 Season are Kara Parish and Allie Hvisdos. The Cubs wish Kara and Allie well in the Softball program in 2001. Alfonso Taylor will be moving up to hardball, and Jacob Corsi and Demetrius Collier have the option to stay a Cub another year, or move up to Hardball. Whatever choice they make, we wish them the BEST!! Coach Steve Parish will also be leaving with his daughter Kara. THANKS Coach Steve for all the help and guidance that you gave us this year!! The Cubs are looking forward to the 2001 season - a new year, new players, new coaches - it should be a blast, just like 1999 and 2000 were!! See you on the field! |
