My wife and I started riding a tandem about four years ago mostly
because of the difference in our abilities. We are now riding over 2000
miles a year and tandeming has become a major part of life. I could
expound more but the following conversation says it all.
I recently had to make some decisions about life insurance, so my
wife/stoker and I had to discuss the possibility of me not being
around. One thing led to another, and I ask her if she would remarry
to which you replied that she probably would and asked if that bothered
me, I said no it wouldn't.
Thinking about that, I asked her if she remarried, would they live in
our house or would she sell it, to which she replied "I like this
house, the neighbors, the town, I think I would like to stay here. Would
that bother you?" I said no.
Then I asked her if they would sleep in our same bed to which she
replied, "We just bought it, I wouldn't just throw it out, would that
bother you?" I said no.
Then I asked her, would she let her new husband captain our Santana
to which she replied "Oh no, I don't think so." I was feeling
good about that, then I asked her "why not?" to which she
replied "He doesn't ride a bike and besides, I don't think he would
fit on a large frame."
Ok, it's an old joke but I was tired of hearing about rim vs disc
brakes.
Seriously, Luanne and I ride with a Tandem
Talk and I think we have spoken
