George and Mary Ann RICHINGS came to America and settled in Berea,
Ohio in 1873. With them was their daughter Helen (1 yr old). Emily
was born later that year. The following year, Mary Ann died of
Typhoid Fever. Her body was snatched from the grave that night. It
was suspected that the medical students of Baldwin-Wallace College
took the body. Mary Ann caught the fever helping a neighbor. Not
much was known about the disease at that time.

George & Elizabeth RICHINGS traveled to Coldwater, Michigan in 1881,
where
their wagon broke down. That is where they stayed - outside Coldwater
in
Batavia Station. Both are buried in Batavia Cemetery.
